Policy and Implementation Panel 2017-2018

Thank you to all members who applied to join ECI's Policy and Implementation Panel 2017-2018. We were delighted by the great level of interest from new and existing Panel members. The Panel is now established with cross-sectoral representation of private and community providers from full-time, part-time, sessional and ECCE only services throughout urban and rural Ireland.

Year in Review: 2016

2016 was a year dominated by change both here in Ireland and across the world stage. Early Childhood Ireland’s main focus was on the developments which impacted on our sector such as the roll-out of the Access and Inclusion Model (AIM) and of course the Affordable Childcare Scheme (ACS).

ACS 52-week Model

Following ECI advocacy, Minister for Children & Youth Affairs, Katherine Zappone TD, is to replace the proposed 48-week funding model with a 52-week funding model under the new Affordable Childcare Scheme.
