Members can now use this online system to process Garda Vetting applications for potential employees. The process is quick, efficient and easy.
2. The applicant provides two forms of identification – photo identification and proof of current address. A list of the acceptable Identification can be found on the NVB1 form.
*Please note that Garda Vetting turnaround times are 10 working days due to increased volume of applications with the National Vetting Bureau.
Garda Vetting for Students during high Covid-19 incidence
You will have received a letter from the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth (DCEDIY) regarding the temporary arrangements for students to work in setting during the current period of high Covid-19 incidence. These arrangements are to facilitate students to be employed in ELC and SAC services on a temporary basis until 31 January 2022, to help alleviate the current staffing pressures resulting from Covid-19.
- Students will receive a Letter of Temporary Permission to Practise’ from DCEDIY
- As a Registered Provider, you may employ a student with the Letter of Temporary Permission to Practise’ until 31 January 2022
You can process Garda Vetting applications for these students using our online vetting. Please choose ‘Degree Student cover during high Covid-19 incidence’ as the role being vetted for. These applications will be expedited in the system.
