Welcome to Early Childhood Ireland's Learning Hub
The purpose of this eLearning platform is to provide a learning space to help build professional knowledge and skills, as well as support you to meet regulatory requirements.
Our Learning Hub is split into two learning spaces:
- The Pedagogy Space – new!
- The Compliance Space – familiar to members who have used the Learning Hub previously.
The Pedagogy Space
The Pedagogy Space is an interactive area to access online professional learning, come together to engage in live discussions and share learning and experience about practice with each other.
Currently, there are two programmes available and more courses will be added in the coming months.
This is Me! Exploring language and identity with Mother Tongues –
Our newest course introduces you to key aspects of multilingualism and encourages you to reflect on ways to embed multilingualism in your practice. The course is supplemented by a toolkit with supporting resources.
Kids Active – Our Kids Active programme has been developed to support you to provide more opportunities for active play, to help more children become more active, more often. The aim of the programme is to enhance both the quantity and quality of children’s movement and helps to develop the habit and enjoyment of physical activity.
These courses can form part of the CPD for your Quality Action Plan.
The Compliance Space
The Compliance Space will be familiar to members who have used the Learning Hub previously. All previous course progress and certificates can now be found in this Space.
It currently has 27 courses within five categories, tailored for the Early Years and School Age Care sector.
- Computer Skills
- Health and Safety
- Microsoft Office
- Personal Skills
The value of completing the full range of training is over €1,000 per person. However, Early Childhood Ireland members and their staff can avail of most of these courses free of charge on our Learning Hub. Some courses (first aid, manual handling, and fire safety) have practical components that incur fees, which will be flagged in advance of booking.
You can work at these courses at your own pace.
Managing the Learning Hub
You can view your course progress by clicking on the My Account section.
Owners/managers can assign courses to employees, view their progress and track certificates received by requesting admin access via email to email@example.com. This will support you in building a portfolio for your Quality Action Plans for each staff member.
Your courses can be completed at your own pace and new topics will be added regularly.
Check out our FAQ section for more information.
You need to log in to both the Pedagogy Space and the Compliance Space separately. To keep it simple, use your existing Early Childhood Ireland username and password for both.
To ensure that certificates are issued in the name of the person who completes the course, please ensure that staff members log in using individual email accounts, as set up by the manager. [Navigational Video]
