On Your Behalf … (April 2012)

Early Childhood Ireland has been actively representing our members and involved in the following projects:

Joint Pre-School Programme with Dublin Zoo

Early Childhood Ireland in conjunction with Dublin Zoo launched a New Pre-School Programme on 1st March 2012.

The Dublin Zoo and Early Childhood Ireland Pre-School Programme is designed to introduce three animal groups to children and is specifically for pre-school children. The children are introduced to an ‘Exploring & Thinking’ programme in the new dedicated teaching facility called the Farm House.    It is a hands on session exploring the differences between  the major animal groups ( Mammals, Birds and Reptiles). The children are encouraged to touch and explore various bio-facts to assist their learning. The module is designed to follow the Aistear Early Childhood Curriculum Framework.

Information on cost and booking details are on the Early Childhood Ireland Pre-School Programme with Dublin Zoo webpage.

Phone and Internet Survey

In these difficult financial times, we all appreciate any savings that can be made on our monthly bills, so Early Childhood Ireland has been liaising with a number of mobile service providers on behalf of our members to come up with the best possible deal.

We would very much appreciate your participation in a quick telecoms usage survey to help assess your phone and your internet needs, so that we can secure the best value possible for our members going forward.

Early Childhood Ireland and ERP Battery Recycling Initiative

Early Childhood Ireland has joined forces with The European Recycling Platform (ERP), Ireland’s only pan-European compliance scheme for electrical and electronic waste and waste battery recycling, to highlight the importance of recycling in the early years sector and launch a recycling campaign.

Early Childhood Ireland and ERP Battery Recycling Initiative are giving pre–school children the opportunity to learn about the importance of recycling, with the aid of a fun recycling pack including  activity programmes and an introduction to the ERP Captain Recycle Team!

The campaign will be launched during the week starting 22nd April which is also Earth Day and will initially be rolled out to Early Childhood Ireland member services in Dublin, Monaghan, Kerry, Longford, Cavan, Meath, Louth and Clare.
