Kids Active Regional Workshop

Kids Active Regional Workshop

Early Childhood Ireland are hosting  a unique opportunity to avail of this once- off training with Kids Active which reiterates the importance of physical activity to children’s holistic learning and development. The training identifies some fundamental movement skills essential for health, development, and well-being as well as ways to integrate movement throughout the day using low cost and recycled equipment.

The Kids Active Programme will support educators to create more physical activity opportunities for children. Through these opportunities, children will develop and refine essential ‘Fundamental Movement Skills’ (FMS). These are recognised as the “building blocks of physical activity”. This programme was designed by the Irish Heart Foundation, Early Childhood Ireland and Dublin City University.

Kids Active has been designed with the Aistear Curriculum Framework in mind and contains a resource of activity cards and posters of characters to demonstrate each fundamental movement skill. If you would like to be more confident and effective in supporting children’s physical development, health and well-being this half-day/one day) training programme can help.
