Demanding our Dinosaur Back

Beverton Preschool, Donabate, Co. Dublin

When the children of Beverton discovered that their Triceratops, Trudy went missing, it was all system go to find out where she was. When it was discovered that she was taken without permission by a member of staff to the sister setting they had to find a way to rescue her. They set off on their journey with a map, food, water and some placard’s to really make sure that their rights are heard when they get there. This story is a lovely example of children’s rights in practice.

Our New Playschool Baby

Happy Days Playschool, Kinnegad, Co. Meath

The news of Jackie (the Educator’s) pregnancy provided for great excitement in Happy Days Playschool. Jackie and the children shared joy and anticipation with every move the baby made in her tummy, convinced that the baby was reacting to the children’s games and conversations. When baby Alannah arrived the children’s excitement oozed as they gazed lovingly at the photograph of her, some even kissed it. It is clear that these children have built a warm relationship with baby Alannah before she ever even came into the world.
