Take 5 for First 5

We are delighted that Minister Katherine Zappone TD will officially open our National Annual Conference 2019 on Saturday 13 April 2019 at Croke Park Conference Centre. The theme of our conference is Providing Leadership to the First 5. First 5 is the national early years strategy for Ireland. Launched in November 2018, it encompasses a ten-year, whole-of-government strategy to provide babies, children, and their families with the best possible start in life.

Ahead of the Annual Conference, we sat down with Minister Zappone TD to ask five questions about the First 5 strategy. 

 

Question 5

In the last video of our Take 5 for First 5 series, we ask how member settings will evolve by 2028 if everything in the plan is implemented:

First 5 envisages a 30% graduate led workforce for the sector by 2021, building to 50% by 2028. We ask the Minister what additional supports will be put in place to help get settings to that point.
