Summer FLASH sale: new resources available!

July 11, 2018

There is just over a week to go until the summer flash sale in our online shop!

Make sure to check out our range of new and updated resources for services, including:

  • Visitor Sign-In Book: This record allows visitors to the service to sign in on arrival and to sign out when they leave.

Under Regulation 24 (3) of the Child Care Act 1991 (Early Years Services) Regulations 2016, a registered provider shall ensure that – (a) no person other than (i) a pre-school child attending the service, (ii) a person dropping or collecting such a child, (iii) an employee, or (iv) an unpaid worker – can enter the premises without his or her entry being approved by an employee, and (b) a daily record in writing is kept of the entry on the premises of any such person.

  • Arrivals and Collections Record: A simple, practical resource for services to manage information on children being dropped off and collected. The book records the time at which the child is dropped off and collected, as well as the name of the person(s) signing him/her in and out.

Regulation 24 of the Childcare Act 1991 (Early Years Services) Regulations 2016 states that ‘a registered provider shall ensure that each pre-school child attending the service is checked in and out of the service by an employee or an unpaid worker.’ For more information on signing children into and out of services, please see our Support Point note – please note that a member login is required to read Support Point updates!

  • Sleep/Rest Log: The sleep log is used to record sleep checks at 10-minute intervals as required by Tusla Early Years Inspectorate. The sleep record includes spaces to record the time of the check, room temperature, breathing pattern of child, skin colour, position and the name of the person carrying out the check. Separate sheets should be used for each child.

Read more about how to support safe sleep in your service in our Support Point updates here and here. For information on cot requirements, please see here.

  • Nappy Changing Log: The nappy changing log is used to record a child’s nappy changes each day. There is space to include if it was normal or not and an area to add in comments. Separate sheets should be used for each child.

These are just some of the items on offer during the flash sale. A 20% discount applies to publications and resources (excluding children’s storybooks and GDPR pack and bundle) purchased from our online store during the day. A 10% discount applies to toys purchased on the day.

The flash sale applies to members and online orders only between the hours of 8am and midnight on Wednesday 18 July. Now is a perfect time to stock up ahead of a new year in your service – don’t miss out!

If you are a member of ECI and have any questions in relation to the Regulations noted above, please contact our Support Point team on supportpoint[at]earlychildhoodireland[dot]ie or (01) 405 7103.
