Our Research Ethics
Early Childhood Ireland's Research Ethics Policy
Early Childhood Ireland is committed to ensuring that research is conducted in ways that respect the human rights, dignity, and wellbeing of all involved, particularly children, and generate the highest standards of scholarship and research practice.
Early Childhood Ireland’s Research Ethics Policy and Framework for Ethical Decision-Making draw from two valuable sources: the EECERA Ethical Code for Early Childhood Researchers (Bertram et al. 2015) and Ethical Research Involving Children (ERIC). These guide ethical considerations in research in early childhood and research involving children, capturing the complexity involved (Stalford and Lundy, 2022; Lyndon, 2023). Â
