Outdoor play during COVID-19 – Outdoors Embracing Change
Outdoor play video 2

We are delighted to launch the first in a series of three videos called Outdoor Play during COVID-19. This series will give you an insight into some quality outdoor early childhood practice in Ireland. Since the beginning of COVID-19 in March 2020, Early Childhood Ireland members have transformed their environments and their practice.

The outdoors has been one area that has really excelled in quality, bringing positive attitudes and approaches to care and education. This series of videos will highlight some transformations in settings as they embrace the great outdoors!

This second in the series of three videos will give you an insight into some quality outdoor early childhood practice across Ireland. While developing emergent interests with children we often think ‘what can we bring to our environment to provoke and enhance this interest’. However, the value of the ‘beyond’ while developing on interests offers children a world of stimulating possibilities.

We believe there are invaluable learning and play opportunities inside, outside, and beyond. We would like to thank Beverton Preschool, Co Dublin for their images and insights, providing examples of how they implement opportunities beyond the setting.
