Practice Ideas

These leaflets have been developed to provide ideas for simple outdoor play spaces and activities for children both at home and in settings. The leaflets can support parents and practitioners combine opportunities for fun and engagement while extending children’s access to outdoor play. Research has shown the benefit of this type of play for children’s health, well being, development and learning. Mindful of the variety of outdoor spaces available across homes and settings, spaces and materials presented can be scaled up or down relevant to the size of play spaces available.

Leaflets can be printed off or shared online among settings and parents contributing to partnership and shared learning.
