Kids Active Programme

Early Childhood Ireland and the Irish Heart Foundation are delighted to launch the Kids Active Programme.

This Programme will support educators to increase the physical activity levels of preschool children. The aim of the programme is for children to move well more often. The programme also focuses on the importance of developing Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS) from an early age. These skills are the building blocks of physical development. Research tells us that early childhood is a critical period for laying the foundation for a healthy and happy lifestyle. However,  recent Irish research confirms young children are not moving as much as they need to. The Kids Active programme will explore the importance of movement in early childhood and share ideas on how to move more in your Early Childhood Care and Education setting.

Each member setting will receive:

>> 2 x free places to attend Kids Active training (free of charge)
>> A Kids Active training resource pack
>> Physical equipment pack

This programme is available to Early Childhood Ireland Members only. There are a maximum of 2 places available per member.  These events booked up very quickly with waitlists in all areas. Some places are still available in Longford and Roscommon.
