Montessori Manager (maternity cover with possibility of extension)

Job Purpose

Karaville Childcare is a small montessori school based beside St Anne’s Park, Clontarf East. We have two classrooms with a lovely small team. We are looking to hire a full time (40hr p/w) passionate Montessori Manager to cover maternity leave with the potential for the role to be extended into a permanent position. This is a stand-alone role of full responsibility and accountability for the management and operation of the childcare and afterschool business . The Manager will be responsible for the overall management and delivery of a high quality early years and afterschool service. The Manager will ensure that all good practice standards are met in the delivery of an early education and care programme and in the afterschool. The childcare practice in the full day care and afterschool should be regularly reviewed and evaluated to ensure high quality standards are continuously developed and maintained. The Manager will be responsible for the efficient financial management and operations of both services. This role also requires the Manager to liaise with the local Childcare committee Tusla-The Child & Family Agency and other relevant organisations.

Responsibilities

-Ensure rosters & staffing of the centre are well organised.
-Meet with parents and children and organise viewings.
-Oversee the daily running of the montessori; including but not limited to reviewing daily programmes, observations, staff performance and administration duties.
-Ensure that the policies and procedures are adhered to along with ratio, legislation & any regulations requirements.
-Ensure any reporting requirements are monitored, maintained and completed on time.
-Ability to keep an organised system throughout the montessori.
-Adhere to Quality Management Procedures, TUSLA Pre-School Regulations
-Maintain a professional approach to dealing with parents and fellow workers
-Lead, coach and develop a highly functioning team of educators.
-Develop positive and open professional relationships with families, children and staff
-Provide effective support, guidance & mentoring to staff member.
-Maintain scheme organisation such as ECCE, CCSP, NCS records using the Early Years Hive program.
-Ensure lesson planning is created and implemented to a high standard.
-Ad-hoc duties as required by Management

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years’ childcare experience.
Montessori Experience is essential in order to support the teachers.
Experience in a crèche managerial role.
Hold a minimum of Fetac Level 6 in Childcare certificate.
Fluent in the English language.
Competent computer literacy
The successful candidate will be highly organised with an ability to work as part of a cross functional team.
Excellent attention to detail and an ability to manage the running of a montessori and staff as well as the ability to implement quality early childhood curriculum and creative skills to develop age appropriate activities will be of the utmost importance in this position.
Ability to work as part of a team
Full knowledge of TUSLA regulations and requirements
