About this role

We are currently recruiting an After-School Teacher to join our team. This role is perfect for a warm, caring and pro-active person who is looking to work in the afternoons. The right candidate will have a passion to support, guide and mentor school going children, while having fun doing so!

The key elements of this role is to:

-Co- Manage and implement an After-School Activity Programme in the afternoons
-Responsible for the learning and development of school aged children in Ivy Lane.
-Key mentor for children looking for support and guidance with their homework
-Ensuring that the children have fun through activities, games and creativity

Duties and responsibilities of role

The duties of the role will include but are not limited to:

-Ensuring the individual needs of all children in Ivy Lane are met
-Consistently show passionate commitment to the provision of the highest standards of education, activities and care for the children in Ivy Lane
-Be responsible for and pro-active in planning and assessing for the children learning, activities and development based on their interests and needs, being flexible to change based on interests, attitudes and needs.
-Show initiative and creativity in the planning, organization and communication of all activities, programs and educational frameworks in Ivy Lane
-Demonstrate the ability to work and connect with all age groups at all times
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills needed to document and maintain all relevant records
-Adhere to schools policies, procedures and operational practices at all times
-Work alongside team in supporting the school rota, allowing for staff break cover, school collections, extra circular activities and other any other reasonable request made by management
-Supervising and helping afterschool children with homework. Ensuring each child is guided and supported while doing homework so that homework is completed to the highest standard and any issues of any kind are communicated to management and or parents
-Contribute to the After-School programme and providing engaging and creative experience for the children.
-Contribute to the team effort of the Montessori and to attend staff meetings and social events as and when required
-Be professional, polite and positive in all verbal and non-verbal interactions with staff, parents and children at all times

Information on the role

Normal Hours 1.00pm to 6.00pm, Monday to Friday*
25 – 30 hours per week
Salary: dependent on qualifications and experience
