Duties and Responsibilities
To administer and manage the service in line with policies and procedures.
Maintain all records as required by Pobal and the HSE and other relevant organisations.
Manage and oversee the service, and day-to-day supervision of childcare workers.
Liaise with room leaders regarding each child’s observation and assessment
Encourage and facilitate training and good practice by liaising with relevant agencies e.g. Tusla, County Childcare Committee, and National Childcare organisations.
Adopt a professional outlook at all times to childcare issues and present a positive approach to development in respect of:
Measures taken to further protect children
Staff supervision, training and development
Partnership with and participation of parents/carers
Evaluation and development of services
Attend staff meetings and provide written reports
Co-ordinate and lead staff meetings
Setting up working rosters in conjunction with staff.
Liaise with parents on a regular basis regarding the ongoing progress and development of their children
To set simple clear limits for children, which are consistently followed and encourage a positive approach to discipline
Carry out any other duties as reasonably requested by the owner.
Childcare 7/8 qualification.

Good Communication and Relating Skills with children, staff, and parents
Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations
Complete Garda Vetting
Ability to delegate effectively
First aid skills
