We have a fantastic opportunity for an Early Childhood Teacher to gain experience in our Centre on a short-term contract (full time, immediate start – May, extension to June funding dependent).


About our organisation

Edenmore Early Education Centre has been a leading provider of community-based education, care and family support services for children and families since first established in 1975.

We provide sessional and full-day early education and care to children from 2 – 6 years, Stay & Play groups and a variety of parenting supports and parenting programmes.  Our Centre also has extra resources to support development such as Gross Motor Room, Sensory Room, Nurture Room and natural outdoor area.

We are a not-for-profit organisation. Our funders include Tusla Child and Family Agency and the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth.


About the role 

We are looking for an experienced Early Childhood Teacher to join our team, with a contract available immediately until May (extension of contract funding dependent). See Role Description for more details.

Role Description



Working Hours and Conditions

·         Monday to Friday, term time, 32-37 hours per week.

·         €15.50 p/hour (Graduate Educator) €14 p/hour (Lead Educator)

·         Daily non-contact time for curriculum planning and assessment of learning

·         Annual leave pay during school closures (non-term time Sept – June)

·         Support from on-site Pedagogical Leader

·         Paid training and planning days


Qualification Requirements

·    A minimum level 7 degree in Early Childhood Teaching (or similar) preferred

·    Level 6 qualification along with suitable experience will be considered



·         Experience in an early childhood education and care setting

·         Planning a programme of curriculum based on children’s interests, identity, and needs

·         Working with children with additional needs

·         Working in partnership with parents and families


Required Skills and Competencies

·   Proven knowledge of the National Curriculum and Quality Frameworks, current regulations and legislations   that relate to ECEC.

·    Ability to build and maintain supportive and professional relationships

·    An in-depth understanding of Child Protection policies and procedures

·    Always Children First Child Protection Training

·    Ability to use initiative as well as follow direction



·         First Aid Training

·         Manual Handling training



This is a fixed purpose contract September 2022 – May 2023, with an extension of the role dependent on funding.
