Garda Vetting Update 19 January 2021

Garda Vetting Update 2 December 2020

November 30, 2020

The National Vetting Bureau has had a large increase in vetting applications so their turnaround time at present is 5-10 working days from the date the applicant completes the link and the disclosure is returned to you. Some applications may take longer.

Please remind your applicant to complete the link as soon as they receive it so that further delay is avoided.

Garda Vetting applications

Please ensure there are 2 forms for every Garda Vetting Application – a Vetting Invitation Form NVB1 completed by the applicant, and an Identification Verification Form completed by the owner/ manager.

Please make sure handwriting is legible and that forms are correctly filled out.

Both forms must be sent together to Early Childhood Ireland’s office:

Garda Vetting,

Early Childhood Ireland,

Unit 12c Hainault House,

Belgard Square South,

Tallaght,

Dublin, D24 RFV0

(Please note that it is not necessary to send copies of the identity verification documentation unless it is the Owner/Manager applying for Vetting for themselves.)

Tracking an application

Once an applicant has submitted their information to the National Vetting Bureau, they can track their application by entering their application ID (the long number starting with ECI001-2………) and their date of birth, on the An Garda Síochána webpage.

The owner/manager of the service also receives this information at the bottom of the email notification they receive, so they can also track the application. Make sure there are no spaces put in before or after the application ID number as it may not work.
