Garda Vetting Update 31 August 2021
Garda Vetting update 23 May 2022

Garda Vetting applications are taking approximately 10 working days from when the applicant completes the link sent to them from the National Vetting Bureau, so please ensure you submit the vetting applications as soon as possible and that the applicant completes the link as soon as they receive it. Unfortunately once the application is in progress with the National Vetting Bureau it cannot be expedited.

The Garda Vetting Process is now online and is outlined here:

GNVB Affiliate Registration Number

If you have your GNVB letter but haven’t yet emailed it to us for registration on the National Vetting portal, please email it to cdaly@earlychildhoodireland.ie. In January 2020 the compliance unit of the National Vetting Bureau made it compulsory that all ELC and SAC settings must have a unique Garda National Vetting Bureau (GNVB) Affiliate Registration Number.

If you do not already have a GNVB Affiliate Registration Number you will need to:

  • Email registration@garda.ierequesting a GNVB Affiliate Registration Number Application Form. Please include the following in your email:
  • Name of ELC or SAC setting and the setting address
  • Contact person
  • Contact phone number
  • The nature of your business i.e. ELC or SAC setting
  • Your ECI Membership Number

This process could take up to 3 weeks and must be completed for each individual setting. The Garda National Vetting Bureau will send you a form to complete and then return to them.
You will then receive your GNVB Affiliate Registration Number.

Please email a copy of both pages of this letter to cdaly@earlychildhoodireland.ie
