Every early learning and care and school age childcare setting in Ireland must be registered with the National Vetting Bureau, and needs their own unique GNVB Affiliate Registration Number.

You will need this GNVB number to access our online vetting, even if you have used us in the past for vetting. You need to register your ELC or SAC setting details with the National Vetting Bureau by applying for a GNVB number.

If you have received your GNVB letter – please email it (both sides) to cdaly@earlychildhoodireland.ie as we need this to be able to send your setting to be registered on the vetting portal.

How do I apply for a GNVB number?

Email the Garda vetting bureau at vetting@garda.ie requesting a GNVB Affiliate Registration Number giving the following information:

  • Early Childhood Ireland membership number and main contact person
  • Name and address of your early learning or school age setting – this must be the setting address (not home or company address) affiliated with ECI membership number.
  • Here is the (GNVB) Affiliate Registration Number process outlined below:
