Garda Vetting Update 16 August 2022

Garda Vetting Update 16 August 2022

We are delighted that the online Garda Vetting process has been successfully used by over 2,700 members and we hope that the increased flexibility of the system is beneficial.

Please remember to input the full address of the applicant including town or city, as incomplete addresses may lead to a cancellation of the Garda Vetting application by the National Vetting Bureau (NVB). This is also applicable to the addresses the applicant enters when filling out their link from the NVB.

Please note that the processing time for Garda Vetting applications starts when the link from the National Vetting Bureau has been completed and submitted by the applicant, and is ten working days. Twenty per cent of Garda Vetting applications will take longer due to further checks.

GNVB Affiliate Registration Number

Every single early learning and care and school age childcare setting in Ireland must be registered with the National Vetting Bureau by having their own unique GNVB Number. Your GNVB number needs to be registered on the Vetting portal in order to access Garda Vetting with Early Childhood Ireland.

Email gnvb.registration@garda.ie requesting a GNVB Affiliate Registration Number application with your name, the name and address of the setting and your Early Childhood Ireland membership number. You will be sent an application form to fill out and return to the National Vetting Bureau.

They will then issue you with a GNVB letter which you then forward to cdaly@earlychildhoodireland.ie so that we can have your setting registered or re-registered on the Vetting portal.

If you have any queries regarding Garda Vetting please see the Garda vetting section on our website, or phone us on 01 405 7102.
