Garda Vetting Update 13 September 2022

Apply for re-vetting now so you are ready for the Tusla registration renewal deadline of November 1 2022.

We encourage all members to check their Garda Vetting and make sure it’s been done within the past 3 years. Tusla will be checking there is documentation to show evidence of this.

The re-vetting process is the same as the online Garda Vetting process. Garda Vetting turnaround time is ten working days.

Step 1
NVB1 Form
The Owner / Manager /Registered Provider fills out the NVB1 Vetting Invitation Form
Provide two forms of identification – photo identification and proof of address within the last 6 months, and have your assistant manager verify/ sign them.
Step 2
Input to ECI website
Input the information from the NVB1 Vetting Information into the ECI Garda Vetting online application form:
https://www.earlychildhoodireland.ie/membership/garda-vetting/garda-vetting-application/
Step 3
NVB send link
ECI uploads the Garda Vetting application into the National Vetting Bureau (NVB) Vetting portal. NVB reviews the application and emails you a link to complete your vetting application.
Step 4
Garda Vetting disclosure
The National Vetting Bureau processes the application and forwards a vetting disclosure to ECI.
Step 5
ECI forward disclosure
The vetting disclosure is sent by ECI to the owner / manager, who prints it out and adds it to the employee file.
