EYES Update 19 November 2019

Early Childhood Ireland’s Early Years Employer Service (EYES) can be contacted Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm, by phone on (01) 405 7103 or by email on eyes@earlychildhoodireland.ie. The EYES team is here to help with a range of issues related to the running of an early years and school aged service.  If you have a query outside of these hours, please send us an email and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

*Please not that at the time of posting, 20 November 2019,  the Early Years Hive website is experiencing technically difficulties.

National Childcare Scheme – Roll Out and On-Boarding

By now most providers in the country will know that the National Childcare Scheme will open for registrations on Wednesday, 20 November 2019. All services that have signed a contract with the National Childcare Scheme and plan to offer the scheme must have gone through the on-boarding process. The on-boarding process is available on the Early Years Hive, which was rolled out last week and can be found here. This on-boarding process is the process whereby you set up all your details on the Early Years Hive, in order to begin enrolling children after the roll out on 20 November.

In order to complete the on-boarding process, you will be asked to enter the following information:

  • Organisational details
  • Service provider details
  • Tusla registered number

You will also be asked to upload a valid copy of ID to verify who you are. The National Childcare Scheme has indicated that they will accept the following forms of ID:

  • Passport
  • Driving Licence
  • PSC card
  • National Identity Card for EU/EEA/Swiss citizen

From there, you will be required to read the privacy statement and accept the terms and conditions of the Early Years Hive.

In addition to the on-boarding information, you can also find some helpful how-to-guides on the Early Years Hive. Here you can find a lot of information on programme readiness, which would include adding information like your bank account and Tusla Certificate, information on payments and funding, registrations, attendance rules and information on exemptions.

If you have not received your invitation link to the Early Years Hive, we would suggest calling the Early Years Provider Centre on 01 511 7222. They are available 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday. If you are already signed into the Early Years Hive you will be able to request support through the Requests section of the Hive.

National Childcare Scheme – Subsidy Calculator

The subsidy calculator for parents is now available on the National Childcare Scheme website. You can begin to direct parents towards this to calculate the subsidies they will be entitled to. In addition to this, should parents have any queries on the National Childcare Scheme you can direct them to the National Childcare Scheme Parent Support Centre on 01 906 8530 or by contacting them here.
