Exploring and Thinking- Focus on Birth to Three’s – Cork Seminar

A DIALOGUE with Aldo Fortunati & Arianna Pucci (Tuscan Approach)

The Cork seminar will take place in the evening from 7 – 9pm. Aldo Fortunati and Arianna Pucci will present and answer questions, and we plan to include some local showcasing from local providers.

Care & education under 3’s: The Tuscan approach. Early Childhood Ireland are delighted to announce a professional development opportunity, with Aldo Fortunati & Arianna Pucci from San Minato Italy in Cork. Early Childhood professionals will be introduced by these two leading experts to the Tuscan Approach to early childhood care and education. This approach emphasises the importance of;

  • the encouraging educator,
  • active partnership with parents,
  • family and community,
  • observation and documentation,
  • sustainability
  • and governance.

Aldo Fortunati is Director of the Educational Area at the Istituto degli Innocenti in Florence, President of the Centre for Research and Documentation on Childhood La Bottega di Geppetto of San Miniato, teacher at the University of Florence, “World Forum National Representative” for Italy and member of the Gruppo Toscano Nidi e Infanzia.

He is education and policies expert for children and author of numerous books and contributions on the subject, he has directed programmes and monitoring activities on educational child care services on behalf of the Tuscany Region and the Italian Government and, through Eurosocial, in areas and countries of Latin America. In the same field, he has provided training activities and developed innovative experimental projects in Tuscany, Italy and abroad.

 

Arianna Pucci, pedagogue, has worked as educator and pedagogical coordinator in many education services in Tuscany.

Since 2011, she works at the Education Area of the Istituto degli Innocenti in Florence where she is involved in the activities of the Tuscan Region Documentation Centre on Childhood.

She has collaborated to the most recent publications on the Tuscan Approach to children’s education and to some articles related to ECEC services.
