Energia make energy savings child’s play with Early Childhood Ireland affinity deal

1st September 2014 – Early childhood care and education facilities around Ireland will be able to access special savings on their energy costs thanks to a new affinity deal agreed by Energia and Early Childhood Ireland.

Under the terms of the affinity deal Early Childhood Ireland members will receive a special discount from Energia on their electricity and gas costs.  

Early Childhood Ireland represents over 3,400 childcare professional members who support over 100,000 children and their families through preschool, afterschool and full daycare provision in every community in Ireland.  


Commenting on the deal Teresa Heeney, CEO, Early Childhood Ireland said: “We are delighted to be able to offer our members cost savings on their energy bill thanks to this affinity deal with Energia. Managing energy costs is key to a sustainable and efficient business and this partnership with Energia is both financially and environmentally rewarding for our hard working members.”

Mike Nugent, Regional Sales Manager, Energia commented: “With over 60,000 business customers in the energy market in Ireland, Energia is actively committed to developing great value offers with a wide range of trade associations and groups. Energia has created a number of affinity deals that provide members of the groups with preferential group rates. These include the Restaurants Association of Ireland, Retail Excellence Ireland, the Irish Pharmacy Union and the Vintners Federation of Ireland.”

This information in turn can be used with another product, the Energia Bureau, to manage energy efficiency projects in the business. Energia has a 26% market share of the Irish business electricity and gas market supplying the energy needs of over 60,000 business customers. In addition to renewable assets, the company also operates a 750MW gas fired power station in north Dublin.

Energia has also entered the residential electricity and gas market with a great new offer for consumers nationwide.  Energia’s offer will guarantee consumers savings of up to 16% off standard rates for both gas and electricity.
