Early Years Capital 2017

Applications for Early Years Capital 2017 have been extended to Thursday the 27th of April at 3 pm.

Applications are made using the online application form that is accessed and submitted through the PIP portal. Services will need their DCYA reference number to apply.

Community services can apply for all 3 strands, private services are only eligible to apply for Strands 1 and 3. 

 

There are three strands of funding available:

Strand 1 is for services that are adding additional places. These places can be for children aged 0-3 years (minimum of 6 new places) or for additional ECCE places (minimum off 11 additional ECCE places). The maximum grant you can apply for under this strand is €50,000 and the minimum grant you can apply for is €25,000. Applications will need proof of planning permission if needed or where planning permission is not needed a letter from the local authority stating that planning permission is not needed. One quotation for each cost will need to be included on the application form.

 

Strand 2 is for building improvements for community based early years’ services. To be eligible community services must have received a capital grant greater than or equal to €200,000 or more under the EOCP or NCIP funding programmes. The maximum grant an applicant can apply for under this strand is €20,000 and the minimum grant an applicant can apply for €10,000. One quotation for each cost must be included

 

Strand 3 is for the creation of a natural outdoor play area. To be eligible for this strand services must have 25 or fewer unique children registered in the service as of 28th Feb 2017. The maximum grant you can apply for under this strand is €5,000 and the minimum grant you can apply for is €3,000.

 

One quotation for each cost will need to be included on the application form.

 

Please note that in relation to all three strands above that it is necessary to follow normal procurement guidelines and source three quotes which you should hold on file but on this occasion you only have to submit the quote that you are proceeding with.  

 

Grant outcomes will be announced in June 2017. The grant must be fully spent and reported to Pobal no later than 30th November 2017.
