Mary Moloney
Title: Nurturing Care – Nurturing Pedagogy, what children most need and want from their Early Childhood Teachers
Mary is an accomplished researcher, author and lecturer in the field of early childhood education and care. Her work is influenced by research trips to Slovenia, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, New Zealand and Reggio Emilia in Northern Italy. In 2018, Mary achieved her lifelong ambition to work at the Center for the Study of Child Care Employment Institute for Research on Labor and Employment at the University of California, Berkeley. She worked as a volunteer kindergarten teacher with refugee children and their families in Greece in 2016 and 2017.
Colette Murray
Title: It’s Not Optional: Anti-bias Work in ECEC
Colette has more than 30 years’ experience in the Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) sector in both national and international contexts. She has worked as educator, trainer, lecturer, advocate and researcher. She has advocated for a comprehensive Diversity, Equality and Inclusion approach in ECEC practice, training and policy, introducing the Anti-bias Approach to the Irish ECEC sector. Colette is interested in transformative and emancipatory practice in education and care. She founded the Equality and Diversity Early Childhood National Network (EDeNn). She is a board member of Pavee Point Traveller and Roma Center and is a steering committee member of the international Reconceptualising Early Childhood Education (RECE) network. Colette currently lectures on TU Dublin: Blanchardstown ECEC degree programme. She has written and published primarily on social justice, diversity, equality and Traveller issues.
