Research Conference 2019 Keynote Speaker

March 3, 2019

Early Childhood Ireland’s ‘National Early Childhood Research Conference 2019’, will take place on Friday 12th April 2019 in Croke Park Conference Centre, Dublin. It promises to be an exciting opportunity for students, practitioners and researchers.

This full day research conference includes a tailored masterclass on conducting research by Dr Brendan O’Keeffe, The Institute for Action Research:

The childcare sector is becoming increasingly data-driven. Providers have a growing need for data. Data and information are key to ensuring quality assurance, viability, growth and innovation.  Yet, few providers have the time to undertake research projects. There are, however, many user-friendly ways in which research and data collection can be built into your work, and can enhance your feedback mechanisms and engagement with parents and others.  Research and data are about more than numbers. Qualitative research techniques, such as focus groups and walking interviews and arts projects can generate data in an enjoyable and engaging way. This masterclass will provide tips and advice on how to make research more effective, constructive and enjoyable.

Inspiring presentations from Early Childhood Ireland’s Innovation award winners will also be showcased on the day. This will be of significant interest to prospective researchers, generating ideas for future research proposals. Participants will have access to a range of research presentations, poster presentations and self-organised symposiums.
