In preparation for reopening, why not refresh, and encourage your staff to refresh, on child safeguarding and your obligations under the Children First Act 2015 by taking ‘Introduction to Children First’.
This e-learning training programme developed by Tusla, with the DCYA and HSE, supports us to recognise concerns about children and reporting such concerns if they arise. The programme is based on Children First: National Guidance for the Protection and Welfare of Children and the Children First Act 2015. This Act places legal obligations on owners, managers and staff in early years and school-age childcare services on the safeguarding of children and the mandatory reporting of child protection and welfare concerns.
The programme takes approximately 1.5 hours to complete but it can be done in a number of sittings. When you have completed the programme, you will receive a certificate of completion directly to your email address.
And don’t forget that you can access more helpful resources to support compliance, and to put children first, on our website here.
