The Policy Brief this week presents a research project developed by Eurochild that analyses early childhood development across Europe.
This summer marked the establishment of a Joint Labour Committee (JLC) for our sector involving representatives of some employers and some employees in discussions, which could lead to the establishment of an Employment Regulation Order (ERO), defining agreed terms and conditions for educators.
As the early learning and childcare sector reopens, Early Childhood Ireland raises the serious funding concerns and staffing issues faced by childcare settings with TDs, as part of the campaign for long-overdue increased investment in early years.
Early Childhood Ireland, the leading organisation in the early years sector, has raised funding concerns with TDs today (30.08.21) as many members reopen childcare settings across Ireland for the new term. Early Childhood Ireland members are also reporting additional staffing issues as employees seek out better pay and working conditions in other sectors.
