Early Childhood Ireland commissioned RedC to find out the views of Irish people about childcare. 1,000 adults aged 18+ were interviewed over the telephone between 16 and 24 January 2019.

Early Childhood Ireland commissioned RedC to find out the views of Irish people about childcare. 1,000 adults aged 18+ were interviewed over the telephone between 16 and 24 January 2019. For each statement, respondents were asked for their level of agreement.

Key findings: 

87% agree that all private childminders should be Garda vetted and have basic First Aid and other relevant training.:

70% agree that all parents should be financially supported to stay at home with their child for the first 12 months of the child’s life:
