Early Childhood Ireland constantly works to improve the quality of practice in services throughout Ireland.

In order to achieve this we draw on examples of good practice in daycare and preschool services for sharing with the wider sector.

We also offer a range of Quality Programmes that can be tailored to meet the needs of a service or a group of services in a particular area.

We also help services to assess their level of quality and prepare for an inspection or devise a plan for ongoing quality improvement.

We recognise that learning and development is a dynamic area of theory and practice and we want to contribute to further developing it.

We believe that the early childhood sector has the capacity and opportunity to lead in developing our understanding of children’s learning and development and thereby to improve the experiences of children throughout the education system.
