Literacy and Numeracy

There are multiple opportunities here for children to:

• Make signs, name and number cards

• For measuring/timing distance, height, speed, weights etc.  Provide the children with rulers, measuring tapes and make your own rulers and measuring tapes. Provide stopwatches so children can time how long it takes children to run a certain distance

• They could design medals, silver, bronze, gold – 1st, 2nd, 3rd

• Flags to represent the different countries

Science

• Olympic Mascots: Discover more about the mascots of the Olympics and talk about the uniqueness of the animals

• Discuss foods that make you strong and healthy
