Setting up the Olympic Stadium
Invite children to design and set up an Olympic stadium
The Balloon Between the Knee Race – Children place a soft balloon between knees and hop or walk to finish line Backward Race: Children walk backwards to finish line Ball Toss: Children can toss different size balls into a container Discus: Children throw paper plates as a discus. Measure how far they are thrown. Javelin: Throw straws/sticks and see who can throw them the farthest. Obstacle Course: Set up an obstacle course so children can crawl under, go through obstacles, and over obstacles. Tennis: Children can set up a net/line and mark out the court to play Water Sports: The object of the game is to carry the water from one place to the team bucket and see which team can get the most water in the bucket in a limited amount of time using a spoon. Long Jump: See how far children can jump. Having a starting line where children can jump from. Volleyball: Have children stand on both sides of a net and throw a ball over the net. Shot Put: Have your children throw tennis balls, or softballs like a shot put. Use measuring tapes to measure the distance. Relay Races: Have your children run a set distance and hand off a rolled up piece of paper to another child Hammer Throw: Take an adult sock and put a small ball (tennis ball, etc.) have your children sling it above their head and let it go. See who can sling the ball the farthest.
Have a medal ceremony after your games in your Olympic stadium area. Invite Children to make a speech. |
