Meningitis

Meningitis

Early Childhood Ireland are working with the Meningitis Research Foundation to help raise awareness of Meningitis with our members. We are now in peak season for Meningitis and under fives are the most at risk age group. Awareness of Meningitis Baby and Tot  Watch is especially important. We have a couple of resources for you below.

Baby Watch: For parents and other carers of babies and very small children. This award winning pictorial representation of symptoms assists parents and other carers to recognise meningitis and septicaemia in babies and very small children who cannot explain how they are feeling. Please click on the Meningitis Baby Watch information poster to download a PDF version of the Poster to put up in your service.

Tot Watch: This leaflet gives the symptoms of meningitis and septicaemia in this age group, including the red flag symptoms. Please click on the image below to download a PDF version of the information leaflet for your service.
