Family Day Care Membership is suitable for providers offering limited day care/childminding services and this includes:

• Statutory Notified Childminders: those who have registered with the HSE and are inspected annually by the local preschool officer, in compliance with the Child Care Regulations 2006.

  These childminders are providing a service single handedly for no more than 5 children (including the childminder’s own children, if they are of preschool age) in the childminder’s home for a total of more than 2 hours per day.

  These services must be notified to the HSE and be able to provide the date of their last inspection.

• This membership is also available to voluntary notified childminders.

• Family Day Care Membership provides access to the services of an early childhood specialist, with experience in the sector to answer and discuss queries relating to quality, HR, legal and business issues.

  The specialist will also be able to advise and support you in providing a quality, sustainable service.

• Family Day Care Membership provides childminders with professional recognition in the early childhood care and education sector.

• Childminders will benefit from advocacy specifically tailored to meet the needs of the family day care sector.

• Family Day Care members will have access to free Garda Vetting for 2 people working in their service.

Cost of Family Day Care Membership

The cost of Family Day Care Membership is €70 per annum.

(A once-off joining fee of €31.50 is payable by first time applicants only)
