The European Recycling Platform (ERP), is delighted to once again partner with Early Childhood Ireland in an initiative to promote battery recycling awareness to younger audiences. The campaign achieved great support from pre-schools across the country in its first year and we would like to build on this success and encourage even more schools to get involved.
One of the key objectives of ERP is to drive awareness and promote positive behavioural change and what a better time to start than at pre-school! This campaign supports the environmentally friendly nature of the Irish pre-school curriculum and educates pre-schoolers to recycle through fun and engaging activities.

Drawing sheets – Meet our mascot Captain Recycle and the ERP Recycling team
If you have battery boxes from last year’s campaign simply download our kit to educate your young recyclers and start collecting used batteries today.
If you require new boxes please ring 0818 332 757. If you did not participate last year and want to begin a battery recycling programme in your pre-school then welcome on-board! Ring our operations team on 0818 332 757 and we will set you up on our system and arrange to send you battery boxes.
Please place our battery boxes in your childcare facility, at a safe distance from very young children, so that the little recyclers in your care and their parents can bring in their used batteries from home and put them in the collection box. Once you have 2 full battery boxes, simply ring our operations team on 0818 332 757 to arrange a collection.
Win an ERP Party
Every battery box collected from your childcare facility will be weighed and tracked.
The childcare facility that collects the most batteries per head at the end of the school year can WIN an ERP Recycling Party with face painting, balloon modelling, puppet show, disco and much more! The winning childcare facility will also receive a voucher to the value of €250.
