FETAC Level 5 Module, Health Awareness

Introduction

This module is designed to equip the learner with the skills and knowledge to support the health, safety and nutritional needs of the older child and adolescent.

It is designed to enable the learner develop skills that support the well being and protection of the older child and adolescent.

The module aims to promote good practice, equality of
opportunity and respect for diversity in lifestyles, religion and
culture.

Content

This module consists of the following 4 units:

  • Health and Nutrition
  • Safety
  • Well Being
  • Child Protection

Requirements and Assessment

Course requirements:

  • 85% attendance
  • Completed assignment work

Assessment:

  • Project – 60%
  • Assignment – 20%
  • Short Exam – 20%

Delivery of the Course

This course is delivered one evening per week.

Duration

This course is delivered over 16 weeks.
