The National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) ensures that qualifications are of a quality and standard that is recognised both at home and abroad. Many of the Early Childhood Ireland childcare training courses are awarded through the Quality & Qualifications Ireland (QQI/FETAC) at Level 5 & Level 6 on the NFQ.
In addition, Early Childhood Ireland offers a B.A. in Early Childhood – Teaching and learning degree programme awarded through the National University of Ireland at level 8 on the NFQ.
Please note that a new national awards system, the Common Awards System (CAS), has been introduced for all further education and training and we are supporting our learners through this transition in agreement with QQI/FETAC as follows: changes to the awards system.
All accredited childcare training courses should facilitate a progression of some form; either allowing you to move to the next level on the NFQ or providing you with avenues to new employments.
Accredited training is recognised and approved by Quality & Qualifications Ireland (QQI):
The Higher Education and Training Awards Council (QQI/HETAC) is the awarding body for third-level education and training institutions outside the university sector
The Further Education and Training Awards Council (QQI/FETAC) is the national awarding body for all further education and training in Ireland.
